Originally called Tompkins Park, Von King is one of the first parks in the history of Brooklyn, with a design submitted by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux.Today, Von King Park remains a very active respite from the city grind, thanks to the involvement of a strong community that helped build a unique Cultural Arts Center.
