I have no more than 10 minutes on the thing so far... the oil doesn't smell like gas at all. OK I am new here, I traded a Jon Boat for a Moto 4 350 and it is not getting spark. Joined: May 21, 2007 Oddometer: 13. i have cleaned the carb a few times, and even took the carb off my 03 Kodiak and put it on the grizzly and it still didnt run. I have a 1987 yamaha 350 moto4 atv. My 1998 Yamaha Wolverine ATV ran fine when we parked it. I pulled the plug and cranked it over and no spark. like mentioned above check the valves sounds like they are out of adjustment....also didnt think there were yfz400's lollol, your right. now at the point of checking the fuse but do not know where it is located on the atv.

After cranking it over you can smell gas in the exhaust also. You did say it was getting spark so it wouldn't be a bad cdi/spark plug wire.I looked at the plug and it looked good, a light brown but I did notice on the small threaded shaft the cap connects to was worn were the cap holds it, I didn't have a new plug to put in it and the part store by me doesn't carry them. I'll fix it. Open to all Grizzly models including 700, 660, 600, 350, and 125. I will get a new plug and try it out again just to be sure that isn't the problem. I pulled the dipstick and it was almost to the top. I have a compression tester but doesn't it have automatic decompression? I was in a hurry when I posted that.
Pulled carb off, checked all jets and verified everything was in working order, checked valve clearances and cam timing, verified that there was spark, and checked coolant. It was replaced in 2002 with Yamaha Grizzly 660, an even bigger engine derived from the well-established all-terrain vehicle (ATV) Yamaha Raptor 660R.
then it started sputting and stalling every once in a while, now it wont even start. I sure would greatly appreciate it very muchdid you find the fuse?
It - Answered by a verified Motorcycle Mechanic i have the same issue. I thought the guy said it was a new battery but that doesn't mean much. I checked spark with a new plug for my friends 400ex and grounded it to the frame. Sounds like to me a bad Battery or a jetting problem..But take some oil out and see what happens..whys the oil overfilled ??? one thing to note is that it never did idle that great unless it was set a little high.mine does the same thing and when i choke it it quits turning over.Another thing to note when I went through the carb the needle wasn't adjustable, I can't remember what it said on the needle but there was only one slot.

I have a Yamaha bruin 350 4x4 2004, i checked all the fuses under the seat, new battery (all Charged), when i hit the start button, the red light comes on … Joker Adventurer.
I thought 04's were still adjustable? E.S.R. Got it running today, Float level was way off some how so it was just pouring fuel in. I also noticed that the oil is way overfilled. So, guess yamaha wants you to figure out where exactly the fuse is located. I barely know how to look for a problem and fix it. his dad does not know anything about atvs nor does not know how to ride them. his dad does not know anything about atvs nor does not … when i push the start button, the oil light lights up and it won't crank. my brother in law tried to replace the battery but he bought the wrong battery. check the gas....it might be old. Now, as I previously stated replaced battery. 170main,45pilot,4th clip on needle,2.5turns out.

According to an "ATV Rider" 2009 article, "When the Grizzly was introduced in 1998 as a 600cc machine, the top was blown right off the displacement wars of the time." Pull the hose put it on reserve and see if gas comes out. my 2008 Yamaha grizzly 125 won't start. found out I had to replace the battery because the owner's dad had it parked in his garage for 2 years or more.
