I ended up going with a 16' Hewescraft Sportsman and it was a great boat. I'm seeing them all perrty close in price give or take 5 Grand. My experience in PS and the Strait is that the wave frequency is such that you can get pretty wet in a 16'-17' boat.I'd buy from 3Rivers...great service after the sale! Would the 16" make that much of a difference?

The two boats are very similar except check out the deadrise. I have an 18' Stryker. My limit will be 60K set up ready to go out the door with kicker,GPS,Downriggers,VHF . I swivel the seat sideways and put my cooler or tackle box at the end and can sleep/nap quite comfortably. I liked the dual compartments on the bow on the Stryker. Therefore AlumaweldI'd sure give some consideration, if you can, to bumping the length to 18' and think about a windshield.

Things like lockable storage, down rigger brackets, two batteries, kicker motor and electric, live well or built a in ice chest. I was considering the Sportsman Pro V before I found my used Intruder. I'm looking at Hewescraft, Northriver, Norhwest boats, ALUMAWELD, Allied and River Hawk all in the 22' range w/soft top and 220/225 Honda or Yamaha. The Hewescraft engineers took the more-is-more approach with the Sportsman ProV. Would I like a 115?

If I remember correctly they actually did this to stay competitive with the Sportsman. I thought the 20 ET was too big the first time I got aboard.

The newer Strykers have a 72" bottom will the Sportsman still has the 66". You should be able to find a low hour late model and save yourself 10k.
