In reality, it affects Murdoch too since he’s been in love with Julia basically from the moment he clapped eyes on her.
Remember the time Julia got him a romantic gift, and - rather than a bottle of aftershave or a new wallet or something - it turned out to be a contraption for extracting bullets from dead bodies, and Murdoch was as thrilled as a boy on Christmas morning? Julia asks too much. How many times can she expect him to break the law or go against his Faith for her, without it weighing on him in the process? I didn’t think it was over the top, it was very human, and I feel strangely satisfied by the episode. The holiday specials were fun, but this required supreme efforts which were delivered flawlessly. We, the viewers live these episodes as if they were real, and from the interviews, the actors do the same to make their believable. Meanwhile, Murdoch and Dr. Ogden struggle both together, and individually, to cope with Julia’s miscarriage. Julia has had an abortion. I wouldn’t even watch the next few episodes with Darcy in them. I AM waiting for at least some reconciliation next week though!! It’s exhausting, to say the least.Wow! Directed by Sudz Sutherland.
I think real things like this should be looked at. It dealt, in part, with an issue that is not often discussed, but needs to be!I love this show.
